Wylab Sport Tech Incubator Has Selected Five Startups For Pre-incubation Program

Ideas ready to take shape, products now on market that are able to revolutionize the world of sport. Wylab has selected the startups for the pre-incubation program and the acceleration phase. The first Call for Ideas was a success: more than 70 applications were submitted from all over the world. Unbelievable how young talents reached out from Azerbaijan, Australia, United States, France and Argentina: seventy projects then reduced to thirty and presented to the scientific committee during the Pitch Day.

At the end of this process, the five startups selected for the pre-incubation program are:

Fightec is a wearable device for those who practice boxing or martial arts. It is able to transmit, in real-time, information on the performance of the athlete. Specifically, it is an under-glove with sensors that calculates various parameters such as speed, acceleration, power of impact, distribution of shots for each finger and frequency;

BeaBeacher is a web / mobile platform for beach volleyball players. The main objectives are three: to facilitate the organization of games and sports events, offering advanced services to sports fields and event organizers; providing to the sports fields a management service of the spaces during the hours typically not booked optimizing the saturation; allow to extend relations in the community of beach volleyball finding mates and challenging;

Triboom is a sport platform that allows all teams to gather their supporters online, generating exchanges. Exploiting the logic of social networks and collective financing instruments (crowdfunding), Clubs may engage supporters and fans in initiatives and events receiving an economic aid;

Math&Sport is the result of a collaboration between Moxoff and various sports organizations. The first products, SeTTEX and MOViDA, are already available. SeTTEX (Second Touch Tactical Exploration) is an Android app that tracks the set distribution during a volleyball match for both real-time and pre-match advanced tactical analysis; the goal is understanding the opposing team’s strategy through the setter’s play during the game. MOViDA (Movement’s Optimization, through Video and Data Analysis) is a platform that provides: video processing of movements and automatic data extraction; data analysis to find correlations and athlete’s optimal gesture;

Wesii has created a special drone, with Parrot sensors, which flies over the pitch to perform a multispectral analysis of the turf surface. This special drone acquires general information on the field condition not visible by sight, such as the moisture content and the biomass. With this analysis, the maintenance of the fields (football, but also golf) is increasingly targeted and effective. The information collected will allow players to give their best performance and fans to enjoy more exciting matches;

At the main time, an acceleration program dedicated to startups which are in an advanced development phase is activated by Wyscout with the support of Wylab. Created for companies that have a strong synergy with Wyscout business, this phase has the mission to improve the product strategy and implement the sales strategy. Some of the companies selected, during the Pitch Day, are:

Sports Decisions, a French startup based in Paris, has developed SD Contract Manager, a sports contract management software designed for clubs, players, agents and sponsors. This product guarantees a better financial control and is already used by some top French clubs;

Sentio Sports Analytics, Turkish startup based in Istanbul, has produced a video tracking solution that allows to track, in real time, the position of the players in the field with great accuracy; the software is able to calculate data such as distance covered, speed, acceleration, energy consumption and other parameters of each player;Sentio Sport Analytics Dashboard

Optisport, a spin-off of Optisoft, has developed a software that allows to manage and optimize the logistics of referee designations. Entering specific filters in the system, as the maximum and minimum kilometers or the difficulty of the match, the program will process the best selection, calculating the cost for a single game or all weekend matches.
