With school spirit running deep amongst college students and alumni, it’s expected to see people brandished in their school’s colors and mascot on the daily. However, the market is predominantly characterized by unisex sweatwear or oversized t-shirts. Hype and Vice, a collegiate apparel company, has made it their mission to broaden the appeal of college-wear by offering more feminine options and silhouettes. The company sells licensed university clothing designs to bookstores, boutiques, and retailers across the country, including name-brands like Barnes and Noble and Tillys. Coming this summer, Hype and Vice is excited to announce their new back-to-school product launches and pop-up events. New categories will be offered such as rompers, dresses, and sets.

Following their quick rise to success, the Hype and Vice team has since expanded – now run by a whole team, Hype and Vice is licensed by over 200 colleges including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and NYU, and more. The company has spent nearly a decade working to bring sports fans and college students innovative designs and new categories of apparel. Current Director of Product Design, Mariana Corella, is responsible for creating the company’s catalog, developing new styles, and coordinating product launches. New silhouettes for jackets and pants will also be a part of the product launch, which Corella believes will broaden the appeal of their designs.

Corella manages a team of 10 including designers, production managers, photographers, and developers to create innovative collegiate designs made by women, for women. Their designs include both feminine and unisex options, offering fashion-forward apparel to embody the spirit and passion of the college experience. The pop-up events will take place this summer through the months of August – September, and their team is excited to bring back this interactive shopping experience. The company will partner with local stores and sponsors to bring incoming students, currently enrolled individuals, and college alums these exciting pop-up events to introduce their newest designs.

The events have been announced to take place at the following locations:

  • Purdue University Bookstore
  • University of Alabama Bookstore
  • University of Wisconsin Bookstore
  • The Harvard Shop
  • Cornell University Bookstore
  • Aggieland Outfitters (Texas A&M)
  • The University of Arizona Bookstore

“We’re so excited to meet different students and hear their thoughts about the new designs,” shares Corella. The Hype and Vice team hopes to bring back the spirit and pride that comes with the college lifestyle, and their chic designs will offer more options for collegiate wear past the typical sweats and oversized t-shirts.

The company’s innovative approach to collegiate wear has led to their steady rise to success, with lead investors including Founders Fund, Soma Capital, Kevin Durant’s 35 Ventures, Jessica Livingston, USC Marshall Venture Fund, and more. Their influence as a business reaches far and wide, and their trendy styles keep Hype and Vice on top as a desirable source of fashionable collegiate wear. The re-introduction of the upcoming pop-up events are sure to be a success amongst college students, and Corella and the rest of the team are excited to share their fresh product launches with a broad audience of individuals across the country.

Hype and Vice is a collegiate apparel company founded in 2015. Now licensed by over 200 colleges, their apparel is sourced to multiple different companies, with top mentions including Barnes and Noble, Follet, Tillys, and Lids.
