History has showed that all phones made by Samsung are launched with a premium price tag. It can be predicted with substantial amount of certainty that this trend will repeat itself this year as well with the Samsung Galaxy S7.

For instance, when Samsung Galaxy S6 first came into the market, its contract price was US$199 while without contract; it sold at US$700. Notably, the Edge variant which had a curved screen at launch was sold at approximately US$100 more.

Rumors from Tweakers, a Dutch site, has it that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge phones are going to follow a similar pattern. The report notes that with internal storage memory of 32GB, Samsung Galaxy S7 will be available in black, white and gold colours at a cost of 699 euros which is equal to US$787. Similarly, the Galaxy S7 Edge will come in black, white and gold but will sell at an extra one hundred euros.

Despite the possibility of deviations, it is not unreasonable to expect that those prices will line up with the costs of these phones in the U.S.
According to the report, which confirms the various reports that we have seen so far, the specifications of the 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 will include a 2.3GHz processor, an octa-core, a 12-megapixel camera (rear camera) as well as a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies, a 3,000 milliamp-hour (mAh) battery and an SD card slot. In addition, the phone will be resistant to water and dust.

Apart from having a bigger battery of 3,600mAh, the 5.5-inch Galaxy Edge comes with exactly the same features.

However, according to the report, it is interesting to note that there are no models with higher internal storage memory. Although this is unlikely to bother most users considering that the phones allow one to expand the storage with a microSD card to a maximum of 200GB, however, if true, it remains an unusual change of strategy by Samsung.
