The Finchb wallet opens as a Mini App inside Telegram and as an installable web app on phones and computers, so starting with Solana takes one tap instead of an app store download.
Finchb has launched a wallet for the Solana blockchain that needs no download from an app store. It runs in any current browser at www.finchb.com, opens inside the messaging app Telegram, and can be added to the home screen of a phone or computer as an app. All three use the same account, and a new wallet is ready after a single tap, without an email address or a sign-up form.
A wallet inside the chat app
Telegram lets services run small web apps, called Mini Apps, in a window inside the chat. Finchb uses this to put its complete wallet into Telegram. The Finchb bot greets new users with a “Create wallet” button; one tap opens the Mini App, where the wallet is created, and the bot then confirms it in the chat. From there, the bot’s menu button opens the wallet, and buttons in the conversation lead straight to receiving, sending or the history. Nothing has to be installed, on phones and computers alike.
An app without an app store
Outside Telegram, Finchb is an installable web app. On iPhone it is added through Safari’s share menu, on Android through Chrome, and on a Mac to the Dock, and the install guide walks through each in under a minute. Once added, the wallet starts from the home screen like any other app.
What the wallet does
The wallet holds SOL, USDC and other Solana tokens, memecoins included, with names, logos and US dollar values from Jupiter’s token data. Receiving works with an address and a QR code, and sending has a confirmation step and an address book. In the Telegram chat, a Solana address can simply be pasted to prepare a SOL or USDC transfer, which the user then confirms with one tap, and the history in the chat links every transfer to Solscan. Sending costs only the Solana network fee; Finchb adds no fee of its own.
One account, three ways in
A wallet created in Telegram signs in on the website and in the app with its 12-word recovery phrase, and a web account can be linked to Telegram with its recovery words or with email and password. An email address, a password and two-factor authentication with an authenticator app can be added at any time. If someone pastes recovery words or a private key into the chat, the bot deletes the message and warns the user.
“Most apps ask for a download, an account and a password before anything happens. Finchb skips all of that: open Telegram, tap once, and the Solana wallet is ready,” said the Finchb team.
Finchb’s support team is available around the clock and answers messages sent from inside the wallet and from the bot. The Finchb community on Telegram is open to everyone for questions and for exchange with other users. The wallet is available in English and German, with a light and a dark mode.
