Lingo Onboards Former Blackrock Leader in a Bid to Augment its RWA Leadership
Duncan Murray, former head of Significant Shareholding at Blackrock, has joined the Lingo advisory board. Before associating with Blackrock, Duncan led the divisions of Global Disclosures for Schroders and Merrill Lynch. After leaving Blackrock, he worked as the Global Head of Shareholding Reporting for Prudential Plc for over five years.
In his stint with Blackrock, Duncan managed the largest significant shareholding disclosures team in the world. He helped reduce error rates across the group drastically by improving the framework and creating a robust understanding of policy and procedure.
Duncan’s presence in the field of Web3 has also been no less than pioneering. He was among the first blockchain adopters in charity. He founded DustAid in 2017, partnering with Coinbase to raise funds for the NSPCC and orphans in Romania, amongst other causes. He is known to be highly passionate about using NFTs for good.
Duncan’s association with Lingo is expected to augment the platform’s RWA leadership by bringing in the best-in-class experience and network required to succeed in the field.
Lingo has already made its name known as the world’s most rewarding token and is active in the first-ever gamified, rwa-powered rewards ecosystem. It is the first token to leverage RWAs and game-fi to fuel and disrupt community rewards. It has US$3 Bn in investors’ combined assets under management.
However, the RWA market’s potential is many, many times greater than what appears to us from its present-day performance. Reports suggest that, according to the most optimistic estimates, the market for tokenized RWAs could grow to as large as US$10 trillion. Even the base estimates suggest that it could reach US$3.5 trillion by 2030.
Overall, Lingo has inspired a strong, robust, and thriving community to flourish around it, with more than 450k users on its social-fi. Its collaboration network is one of the most expansive and exhaustive in the crypto world. Lingo’s rewards ecosystem, for instance, comprises some of the globally leading brands, including Nike, Spotify, Starbucks, Netflix, Uber, Ikea, Novotel, Marriott, and more—totaling over 3,000 brands across 80 countries, complemented by a network of 100,000+ hotels. Technologically, the platform draws from the tech entities in the world, including Google Cloud, Solana, Base, and many more.
Now, with Duncan’s leadership, global network, Web3 vision, and experience in managing rapidly scaled-up teams, Lingo is better equipped to navigate this market effectively and become a true sector leader.
