Fields
- Company
- The company the event is about, without legal suffixes such as Inc. or Ltd. The legal name is kept on the company profile.
- Signal type
- Funding, acquisition, partnership, contract win, expansion, executive hire, product launch, award or share allotment.
- Amount and round
- The amount in the original currency, as reported, and the round where stated (pre-seed, seed, Series A to H, growth, debt, SAFE, IPO). Amounts are also converted to US dollars at the European Central Bank reference rate for the day the data was collected.
- Investors
- The lead investor and other named investors, taken from the announcement wording (“led by”, “with participation from”).
- Valuation
- Included only when the source states it.
- Location
- Headquarters city and country from the filing address, or the dateline of the press release.
- Sector
- One of 17 technology sectors, assigned from the company, the event and the source’s own industry tags.
- Website
- The company’s own domain when we can confirm it, so records match your CRM.
- Source
- Who reported the event, how it is verified, and a link to the original. When several sources report the same event we keep one record and list the others under “Also reported by”.
How records are built
Every record is extracted by fixed rules from the source text, so the same input always gives the same result. We store facts and a link to the source, not the source text. Where a detail is not in the source we leave the field blank rather than estimate it.
Exports
CSV exports use the column names HubSpot and Salesforce expect (Company name, Company domain name, City, Country/Region, Industry), so files import without remapping. Each record has a stable ID, so re-imports update rather than duplicate.
Limits
Not every private company files or announces its rounds, and some announcements leave out amounts or investors. Form D amounts are the sum sold at the time of filing and can differ from the amount later announced. Treat Signals as a fast, sourced starting point and check the original before acting on a single record.
Corrections
Companies can keep their details current by claiming their profile. Anyone can report an error, quoting the signal ID from the export (for example TA-1234), and we correct confirmed errors promptly.
