What’s more fun than Gen-Z humor? NFT projects that are funny, of course! In case you’re not familiar, NFTs are non-fungible tokens that can represent digital or physical assets. They’re unique, unlike regular cryptocurrencies, and can be bought, sold, or traded just like any other asset.

Fun and NFTs go hand-in-hand, so it’s no surprise that there are already a number of hilarious NFT projects out there. Here are five of the funniest NFT projects of 2022:

1. FatLand Club

FatLandClub is exactly what it sounds like. The futuristic civilization of FatLand has fallen into a state of disarray and is now using its advanced technology to travel through holes in the multiverse in search of a new home. All of the people in this civilization are fat as they love to eat burgers, pizzas, hot dogs – you name it, they’ll eat it.

The FatLandClub is a 10,000 NFTs collection built on the Ethereum network, with more than 400 distinct visual characteristics of varying rarities. Avatars created by hand at FatLand include suits, headwear, vivid hairstyles, x-ray glasses, and other glutenous features.

The collection includes heads with different skin tones, 50 celebrities, and plenty of junk food. Just looking at the traits of each NFT is enough to get people excited. The FatNFTs are looking to take people on an adventure through a futuristic utopian fat earth as they collect the NFTs.

2. BAYC

BAYC needs no intro in the NFT world. It is one of the first (and probably the most mainstream) NFT projects that went viral and laid the foundation for the billion-dollar NFT industry we see right now. For almost a year, it was tied with CryptoPunks for being the world’s most successful collection. But in the past year, BAYC NFTs rose in value dramatically as Bitcoin went to an all-time high. You’d earn hundreds of millions of dollars if you took some of these monkey NFTs and sold them. (they cost around $200k each at one point when ETH reached its ATH).

From a fun angle, BAYC is an excellent project. It’s a parody of wealthy people and their love for collecting digital images of monkeys that cost a huge amount of money. Owning a BAYC allows you to flex on Twitter as an NFT ‘expert’ and take part in exclusive events that only BAYC holders can attend.

3. Invisible Friends

In your child’s world, there’s nothing more real than their invisible friends. Whether it’s an imaginary friend or an elf on the shelf, these characters are a big part of kids’ lives. Invisible Friends wants to bring these make-believe characters to life through the power of blockchain technology.

All holders of this NFT project hang out at Invisi-Fam which is a community Discord server that’s invite-only. According to the project’s creator Magnussen, Invisible Friends NFTs are meant for those who still have a little child in them. People who simply want to enjoy themselves can hold these NFTs and enjoy fine art with similar friends on the internet.

4. Uninterested Unicorns

You probably might have heard of this project in the news as it raised $1 million within 10 minutes of its launch. In September, Uninterested Unicorns, an NFT project by Nex10 Labs in Singapore, raised over US$1 million in less than 10 minutes after its tokens were made available to the public for sale. The project sold digital assets totaling around 307 units of Ethereum cryptocurrency (ether).

As suggested in its name, Uninterested Unicorns are creatures that live in the blockchain metaverse. Unlike the common aura that people have about unicorns in the real world, these unicorns are classy as being magical and cute got boring for them. Now they live a fun and exciting life on the blockchain and allow anyone to become their holder.

5. Crypto Kitties

If you’re into digital cats, then this project is for you. Crypto Kitties was one of the first big NFT projects and it’s still going strong today. It allows people to buy, sell, or trade digital cats that are each unique and can be bred to create new generations of kitties.

Since its launch in late 2017, Crypto Kitties has become one of the most popular NFT projects with over 6 million kitties sold. The project has even spawned a series of copycat projects featuring other animals such as dogs, rabbits, and even dinosaurs.

NFTs Can Be Fun!

NFT projects are becoming more and more popular as people continue to find new and creative ways to use blockchain technology. These five projects are some of the funniest and most unique NFTs that are currently available. Whether you’re into digital cats, imaginary friends, fat multiverse stories, or just want to have some fun, there’s an NFT project out there for you.
