Mind Network Partners with Babylon to Revolutionize Bitcoin Restaking with Advanced Encryption Technologies

In a groundbreaking move in the cryptocurrency sector, Mind Network, a leading project in FHE, has announced a strategic alliance with Babylon, an innovative trustless BTC staking protocol that extends bitcoin’s security to all participating Proof-of-Stake systems. Mind Network will leverage Bitcoin LRTs (Liquid Restaking Tokens), issued to represent native bitcoins staked through Babylon, to secure Mind Network’s subnets via FHE validation.

Babylon introduces a novel concept that leverages the immense idle unencumbered Bitcoin capital, which is currently valued at approximately $1.2T. Their newly developed protocol allows Bitcoin holders to “stake” their idle assets to enhance the security of PoS chains while earning yields without the need to bridge these assets directly to the PoS chains. This is achieved through a mechanism that ensures full slashable security guarantees, thereby integrating the liquidity and immense value of Bitcoin with the flexibility and efficiency of PoS systems.

This integration further enhances Mind Network’s establishment in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) by leveraging the forefront of Babylon’s restaking solution. Mind Network’s FHE validation service is crucial in facilitating a solution known as ‘remote staking,’ a method that allows Bitcoin and its LRT holders to participate in PoS validation processes securely and transparently, without relinquishing control of their private keys

Mind Network’s technology provides a secure environment where computational processes on encrypted data are performed without exposing the underlying data or keys. This method is integral to ensuring that the staking process remains trustless and decentralized, aligning with the core principles of blockchain technology.

The unique power of FHE is to enable computation over encrypted data. Due to the previous design of computer systems, computer nodes can store encrypted data, can transfer encrypted data, but can not compute encrypted data. Computer nodes have to decrypt first to compute, which is not end-to-end secure. FHE removes this limitation and is considered as the holy grail of end-to-end cryptography.

Mind Network developed FHE validation to enforce validators to make independent validation, remove “clues” and disable “follow & copy”. A typical problem of validation without FHE is to be “influenced” by other nodes’ validation result, or leak secrets during validation. Mind Network’s FHE can stop this problem, and is favoured particularly by AI projects, DePin projects and Web3 infras.

For example, MindNetwork’FHE can enable trusted AI model selection, protect sensitive data leakage in DePin, or prevent front-run of cross-chain trades.

The Babylon protocol supports fast stake unbonding, which maximizes liquidity for Bitcoin holders and enhances the overall efficiency of capital utilization within the blockchain ecosystem. Additionally, the protocol’s design is remarkably modular, making it compatible with various PoS consensus algorithms. This versatility opens the door to its application across multiple blockchain networks, potentially revolutionizing how networks secure themselves and interact with one another.

A key component of this collaboration is the development of a system architecture that can scale to accommodate numerous stakers and multiple PoS chains. A Bitcoin-staked Babylon chain will act as a control plane to ensure seamless synchronization between Bitcoin holdings and PoS chains. This architecture not only supports the current needs of the blockchain environment but also lays the groundwork for future integration and scalability.

This collaboration between Mind Network and Babylon bridges the gap between Bitcoin and the PoS economy, and can unleash hundreds of billions of dollars of idle capital.
