Edu

Education is the process by which individuals acquire learned skills, knowledge, values, attitudes, customs, and beliefs. There are many different types of education. There are also many different ways to provide education such as through private schools, colleges, universities, vocational or technical schools, the government, and other organizations. Education systems include the processes of teaching, learning, sharing, and applied research. Education can be classroom learning, home-schooling, distance education, and cyber schooling.

The education system can be either formal or informal in nature. Informal education is based on the student’s ability to acquire knowledge and apply it while under time constraints. Formal education is conducted in a classroom where the instructor teaches a particular subject for an extended period of time. The classroom can also comprise a large number of students from different levels. Students who successfully pass the exam are awarded a certificate.

The curriculum of non-formal education can be categorized into four sectors – cognitive, experiential, communicative, and personal development. Cognitive education educates people about how they use their minds and bodies. Experiential education takes place through activities that engage all the senses such as sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. Communicative education involves communicating with others to learn more about the society in which they live. The personal development curriculum teaches students how to become successful in their lives.

Education

With the exception of the first two sectors, all the four sectors of informal education are designed around the same basic principles. An educational system is considered to be a failure if the basic education offered cannot be understood or applied. Informal education is most commonly characterized by cross-curricular activity. This means students interact with all sorts of people, not just their fellow classmates. Informal schooling usually takes place during the day and is for the purpose of developing social skills such as positive communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and leadership.

There are a number of ways that informal education can be achieved. One way is through distance education wherein students take part in distance learning programs that are facilitated by trained instructors. Through this method, students from different parts of the world come together to form a new learning community with similar cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.

Higher education does not only develop individuals, but it also helps society. Formal education helps the society in which it operates by creating new citizens. Society benefits from the knowledge that formal education gives to its people. It is through higher education that individuals are able to contribute to the improvement of their respective societies. By promoting a sense of social inclusion and equality, higher education attracts people from all walks of life, thus ensuring the survival of our planet.
