Introducing Wylab – The First Sports Tech Incubator in Italy

Wylab is the first Sports Tech Incubator in Italy; it’s set in Chiavari, on the ligurian coast. We developed a personalized program to select the best international startups in this field and help them reach their target markets.

Wylab born two months ago – 600.000 Euro investment to modernize the building – from the brilliant minds creators of Wyscout, the first Football Platform in the world: the app contains videos and stats of 330.000 players spread over more than 30.000 teams. It represent a must for teams, agents, football managers and referees all over the world, trusted by 500 clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munchen, Psg, Juventus, Arsenal (
Wyscout and Wylab are today determined to replicate the fortunate experience and pass on the legacy to the next generation of innovators.  We invest in young talent helping them with tutoring and access to finance. The sport industry is growing at an unprecedented pace, opening to new exciting opportunities. We will have to address the need of those who are looking to technology to improve their performances as athletes, their strategies as teams and their experiences as audience.

In these days we are completing the selection of four-five startups that will be part of our program and will be financed by the entrepreneurs (business angels) up to 100.000 Euro. Our first “call for ideas” was a success: we received more than 70 applications, some from Azerbaijan, Australia, United States, France, Argentina, about soccer, boxing, tennis, volleyball and basketball. The program has two phases: 4 months of acceleration and 12 months incubation with tutorship, Demo Day and investment up to 100.000 Euro.

Another peculiarity of Wylab is “coworking”. Startups will share the office space with a community of young professionals and small businesses: the project aims to build a new exciting environment, supporting entrepreneurship initiative and increasing the presence of high tech expertise in the area.
