PointFive Launches Pointer, a Context-Aware AI Agent Transforming Cloud Efficiency

PointFive’s Pointer is an AI agent that helps teams detect cloud cost inefficiencies and act via natural language.

PointFive, the Tel Aviv-based pioneer in Cloud Efficiency Posture Management (CEPM), is introducing Pointer, a context-aware AI agent that provides organizations with a conversational interface to understand cloud and AI spend. In an era where nearly 30% of cloud costs go to waste, Pointer promises to make cost transparency, inefficiency detection, and remediation accessible to everyone without relying solely on FinOps teams.

“Pointer gives users a direct way to explore their infrastructure, reveal inefficiencies, and improve their efficiency posture through simple natural language,” said Sharon Gross, VP of Product at PointFive. “Our goal is to remove barriers that slow down efficient cloud operations.”

A Conversational Approach to Complex Cloud Data

Pointer’s design prioritizes simplicity and context. Users can ask natural-language questions such as, “What are my top AWS cost drivers this month?” or “Explain this inefficiency, how can I remediate?” and receive immediate, actionable guidance. Unlike traditional dashboards, which require navigation and expertise, Pointer responds based on the page or dataset the user is viewing, whether that’s Opportunities, Anomalies, Resources, Teams, or Commitment Optimizations. This contextual understanding eliminates the friction of switching tools or running queries, enabling faster, more precise decision-making.

Beyond providing insights, Pointer can assist with remediation actions, nudging teams toward implementing savings opportunities without adding workflow friction. This dual role of informing and guiding positions Pointer as both an analytical and operational tool, bridging the gap between identifying inefficiencies and acting on them.

Extending a Broader AI-Driven Platform

Pointer is the newest addition to PointFive’s AI-powered suite. Earlier in the year, the company released AI Prompt Remediation, which generates ready-to-run remediation code. Engineers can apply these fixes directly within their existing agentic IDEs, eliminating the need for additional tools or workflow interruptions. This approach allows teams to remediate inefficiencies in minutes, rather than spending hours or days translating insights into action.

PointFive also introduced the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, embedding cost intelligence directly into engineering workflows. Through integrations with LLM-compatible platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude, developers can query PointFive’s data and retrieve recommendations within CI/CD pipelines or development environments. The result is a seamless integration of FinOps practices into everyday engineering activities, making cost management a shared responsibility rather than a siloed task.

Additionally, the AI-Enhanced Analytics Engine, known as Data Explorer, allows users to explore optimization opportunities through natural language. By translating questions into optimized SQL queries, Data Explorer makes deep cost analysis accessible even to non-technical stakeholders, highlighting hidden inefficiencies and supporting data-driven decision-making. Pointer functions as the conversational layer on top of these tools, turning complex data into actionable intelligence without steep learning curves.

Driving Continuous Efficiency Across Enterprises

CEPM, the foundation of PointFive’s platform, emphasizes continuous monitoring, contextual insights, and rapid remediation. By correlating cost data with usage patterns and enabling one-click fixes, the platform helps organizations maintain efficient, optimized cloud environments. Many customers report 20-40% savings, though the broader value lies in operational confidence. Teams can be confident their cloud infrastructure is running efficiently, with insights accessible to all relevant stakeholders.

Pointer enhances this vision by democratizing cloud insights. Finance, operations, and engineering teams can now communicate directly with the platform, identify inefficiencies, and take action in real time. By removing barriers and simplifying access to cloud intelligence, Pointer makes efficiency proactive rather than reactive.

Experience Pointer in Person

Pointer will be on display at Gartner IOCS from December 9 to 11 at booth 546, where attendees can see the AI agent in action. Visitors can observe how Pointer interprets questions, analyzes cost data, highlights optimization opportunities, and guides remediation.

Organizations interested in exploring Pointer’s capabilities or evaluating the broader PointFive CEPM platform can stop by the booth or contact the PointFive sales team for more information. With Pointer, PointFive is setting a new standard for cloud efficiency: one where natural language, actionable insights, and seamless workflows replace complexity and waste.
