Technology transfer, also known as technological transfer, is the procedure of transferring technology from one organization or individual to another individual or organization. Transfer can be in the form of active assistance such as training, education, and the provision of equipment, supplies, and information. It can also be in the form of passive assistance such as licensing regimes, training programs, and subsidies. Transfer of technology can take place through business transactions as well as between different organizations of different countries.

There are numerous examples of technology transfer. Some of the famous ones include the commercialization of computer technology to developing nations, the diffusion of computer technology into non-industrial sectors, and the sharing of scientific innovations through licensing activities. In some cases, technology transfer does not result from an exchange of goods but rather the sharing of information or other forms of innovation. This form of innovation is known as comparative innovation.

The technological transfer is an important process in science and engineering. It is necessary for a country to develop new innovations in order to maintain its competitive advantage. There are several reasons why technology transfer is important. These include reducing cost and preventing waste, promoting a better quality of life, and sharing technology and knowledge internationally. For these reasons, there are many research institutions that have been set up to promote technology transfer.

Exchange

Research and technology transfer institutions often use a combination of different strategies in order to transform ideas into innovations. One of these strategies includes the development of the transformational model. Transformational models focus on the importance of a country’s national vision towards the world community as well as the need for international cooperation. By creating international frameworks and involving various stakeholders in innovation management, transformational models provide a framework in which researchers and technology transfer institutions can work together. These frameworks may include the coordination of federal programs and initiatives, technological standards, and public-private partnerships. These frameworks help to ensure the implementation of federal policies and the promotion of innovative technology.

Since the 1980s, the US has focused its attention on promoting technology transfer. The US government has established numerous support organizations and entire agencies specifically focused on research and technology transfer. There are also colleges and universities that focus on facilitating technology transfer. Many colleges have entire programs devoted to developing new ideas and innovations.

Since technological transfer depends largely on the creativity of researchers and technology transfer organizations, it is important for the country’s domestic system to support research and development. The process can be successful only when domestic programs and initiatives complement international programs. For this reason, the academic community should ensure that it remains well-linked with all other segments of society. In addition, the academic community should also research ways to promote innovations within the domestic arena and to increase the range of innovation. By doing this, the domestic system will be able to better utilize the knowledge and skills of its people and become a leading nation in the field of science and technology.
