At Oklahoma Baptist University, Students in the Paul Dickinson School of Business get real-world applications by utilizing their skills in the classroom and implementing them to a business client. Two students in particular have been partnered to work with Common Ground Connection, a nonprofit based in Nigeria, to help improve its online presence. The students hope to increase the nonprofit’s online presence by utilizing social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to help spread awareness.

Common Ground Connection (CGC) is a 501 (c) (3), non-profit Christian organization that started in 2021. They exist as a parachurch ministry that supports the church in equipping and empowering the next generation of disciples for kingdom advancement. As a discipleship ministry, their goal is to make disciples and come alongside the church in the business of transformation. Their mission focuses on building common ground for the advancement of the kingdom through the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.

True salvation leads a person to confess the Lordship of Christ and to act in obedience to the mission of Christ, which is “to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). The nonprofit focuses on activities such as community discipleship, counseling, ministry, and holding their annual conferences. Founders, David Gambo and Sarah Gambo, emphasize the future goal for the nonprofit is church planting in Nigeria, and would like to transition from a parachurch to a church. However, until then they will continue their one-year disciple programs and invest in individuals.

The two students working with CGC hope to help the nonprofit employees by giving them additional resources to help them excel in social media marketing.
